It has now been announced that Alan Wake 2 will not only have paid expansions, but also free ones.

At the end of October, after 13 years of waiting, the long-awaited second part of Alan Wake will finally be released. While we couldn’t be sure for nearly a decade if and when the second part would be released, we already know what is to come after its release.

The talk is of post-launch content, which, it has now emerged, will be significantly more extensive than previously thought. Find out what this is all about in this article.

“Significant” extensions are coming

Without the additional content, a playthrough of Alan Wake 2 should take around 20 hours. This means that even without DLCs it is significantly more extensive than most of its genre colleagues such as Resident Evil or Alone in the Dark. This playtime is now to be significantly extended once again after release.

Free expansions: As Remedy Entertainment creative director Sam Lake announced at EGX 2023 in London, there will be several free and “significant” expansions for Alan Wake 2. What exactly is meant by this, we do not know at this point.

That’s not all: It is important to mention that these free expansions will be released in addition to the already announced paid DLCs So you can expect the survival horror game to be with you for many months to come

Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27, 2023 for PC (time exclusive via Epic), PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
