During the Game Awards, Remedy Entertainment announced Alan Wake II in the form of a trailer. Fans have been waiting for this reveal for a decade, and now the time has finally come. According to creative director Sam Lake, the title is Remedy’s first survival horror game. On Friday, Lake talked about the technical specifics of the game in an interview with (IGN).
In late summer of this year, Remedy Entertainment had already announced the remaster to Alan Wake. At the beginning of October, gamers on PC, Xbox and PlayStation were able to enter the dark world of the author. While Creative Direcot Sam Lake had promised new updates to the game next summer during the Game Awards, he already gave another interview to IGN on Friday. In this interview, Lake reported that the in-house Northlight Engine would be used for the development of Alan Wake II. He justified this decision with the great advantages of the engine. In order to tell this mysterious, psychological story, one needs, among other things, cinematic images, photorealistic shots and large-scale destruction. The atmosphere required for this could best be realised with Northlight.
