Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Tindalos Interactive (Battlefleet: Gothic Armada 2) have announced a new shooter in the popular Alien universe at Summer Games Fest.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a single-player, real-time tactical game from a top-down perspective where you hunt down Xenomorphs, Face Huggers, Alien Queens and more iconic monsters from the popular film series as the commando of a squad of Colonial Marines. There are also said to be human enemies and all-new threats waiting for you only in this new alien story.

Gameplay-wise, you can look forward to a lot of tactics and management: You control not only one marine, but an entire squad to which you can assign various commands and tasks.

Between missions you can customise your Marines extensively. Not only are there five different classes available, but also a huge arsenal of weapons, armour and equipment. But even during missions, you’ll need to keep an eye on your squad’s health, resources and even sanity.

Aliens: Dark Descent is aimed exclusively at single players, there will be no multiplayer modes. A concrete release date is not yet known. All we know so far is that Aliens: Dark Descent will be released sometime in 2023.
