Why you should watch
The GSA League features amateurs and young professionals, some of whom have little experience with e-sports themselves. You can watch them grow and gain experience together with them or learn from their mistakes.
The GSA League is thus closer to the players than one of the international professional tournaments. Instead of the “best of the best”, you will see newcomers on their way to the top.
At the same time, there are also well-known teams like G2 Esports and Rogue, which are known worldwide and have already won. This makes for a unique mix that can be really rewarding to watch:
– You can take a closer look at the gameplay and problems of the amateurs and newcomers and learn from them – regardless of whether you play competitively yourself or not.
– You will see with the pros that they are not perfect either and make mistakes – even if they are playing against a newcomer.
– The matches take place one evening a week, so you can watch them even if you don’t have much time or watch the videos afterwards.
– The entire league is broadcast in German

Here’s what you can watch at the GSA League: In the GSA League, teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland compete for victory and a prize pool of 40,000 euros over several weeks.
Among them are well-known names like G2 Esports, one of the most famous e-sports organisations in the world, but also smaller teams and absolute newcomers who managed to qualify for the tournament.
The most successful newcomer who does not yet play in the professional league will also get a place in the European League. The tournament kicks off on 9 April and from then on you can watch the teams fight for first place over 14 match days and weeks.
Where can you watch? All matches will be streamed live on the official Rainbow Six German Twitch channel (via Twitch).
How much prior knowledge do I need? Basically, you don’t need much prior knowledge to enjoy the GSA League. The experts will guide you through anything that is difficult to understand and help you to get the analysis right.
What is the GSA League?
The GSA League is the successor of the “Nationals” and the “Clash of Nations”, which represented the regional tournaments for the DACH area until 2019. As a “minor tournament”, the GSA is smaller than the big “major” or “premier tournaments” such as the Six Invitational or the Pro League.
We have briefly summarised the differences between the leagues:
The Six Invitational has teams from around the world qualifying in their respective regions and competing once a year for millions in prize money
The Pro League has one division in each region and now takes place every six months. The teams qualify and the top two from each region play in the finals.
The GSA League only takes place in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The participants have to come from Europe and there are certain rules for their residences in these countries.
What makes the GSA League special: You will not only see world-famous professional teams in the GSA League, but also players who could be your neighbours. Newcomers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland compete against each other and against “the big guys”.
Since new teams qualify for the GSA League every year, you can use the matches to prepare yourself. Maybe you want to compete yourself in 2022.
Schedule, tournament rules and prize money

What are the rules? Teams compete in best-of-1 matches on a map and play to seven round wins. A draw is no longer possible in the 2021 rules, so there is always a clear winner and loser.
The map is decided by the teams before the round via bans. In the round, both teams then ban two defenders and two attackers each. After the selection of the operators, each team has the possibility to change one of their operators with a “Sixth Pick”.
What will be played for? There will be a total prize pool of 40.000 Euro, which will be divided among the teams:
– 1st place: 10,000 euros
– 2nd place: 8,000 euros
– 3rd-4th place: 5.200 Euro
– 5th place: 4,000 euros
– 6th place: 3,200 euros
– 7th place: 2,400 euros
– 8th place: 2,000 euros
So it’s worth taking part yourself. The amateur team that does best will also gain access to the EU League, the professional league in Europe.
What is the Weekly Breach? In the Weekly Breach, R6S experts summarise the last matchday, explain particularly strong plays and give their predictions for the following matches. You’ll also see regular interviews with players and coaches of the competing teams to get a deeper insight into the proceedings.
