IShowSpeed has uploaded a video which is being praised by massive numbers of people. It features a song for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. is currently one of the most successful streamers and at the same time one of the most controversial in the world. He has already attracted attention through animal cruelty scandals or leaked mobile phone numbers of celebrities. Now he has published a song for the World Cup in Qatar on YouTube. Instead of criticism, however, this time the 17-year-old is receiving effusive praise and recognition.

WM in Qatar is considered controversial

Besides IShowSpeed, however, the World Cup in Qatar is also constantly under criticism. For example, many people want to boycott the World Cup because over 6,000 workers have died during construction work for the event. The work is said to be taking place under inhumane conditions, reminiscent of slave labour.

Influencers tend to keep a low profile on the World Cup issue because of this. When the Twitch streamer organgemorange announced his intention to fly there, he had to put up with many accusations and insults until he finally announced that he would cancel his flight.

In addition, FIFA’s official song for the World Cup also received many negative reviews: The video has over 211,000 dislikes. IShowSpeed came off much better.

Disputed streamer makes song about controversial World Cup

IShowSpeed’s song has climbed straight into YouTube trends and is still there three days later. Furthermore, it has only received about 21,000 negative ratings so far and the comments are also full of praise. Surprising, given that so many people see the World Cup as critical. However, there is nothing of this in the comments.

Most acknowledge that no swear words or similar derogatory language were used in the song. Some are now moving on to FIFA’s track and commenting that they celebrate the 17-year-old’s song more. You can listen to the streamer’s song here:
