Suit for Hire is a top-down shooter that is currently running under the radar. However, fans are enthusiastic about the constantly growing game
In Suit for Hire, you slip into the shoes, or rather the suit, of a talented assassin and shoot your way to your mission target with precision and style.
In the Steam reviews the shooter is often referred to as “the best John Wick simulator”, the ratings at the time of writing are 95 percent positive
Criticism has been leveled at the enemy AI, among other things – a problem that will be addressed with the next major update, according to indie developer Godmode Interactive.
A real assassin needs real opponents
As the developer Crimson (David Hansen), who belongs to the small studio, announced via X, formerly Twitter, the next update will be “a big step forward” for the game
A lot of improvements with enemy AI and overall gameplay flow, still some issues to iron out but I think the next mechanical update should be a big step forward for the gamegamedev – indiedev – unrealengine pic. twitter.com/XHIoamTiXt

Numerous improvements are planned for the AI as well as the general flow of the game. In the official roadmap on Steam, Hansen explains that the enemy AI is one of his first attempts in this area and therefore still has a few bugs.
How does Suit for Hire play?
If you want a John Wick comparison: Imagine the scene from the fourth movie with the Dragonsbreath shotgun. If you need a similar game, Hotline Miami is a suitable counterpart.
In the game, you shoot your way through various missions from an iso perspective. In addition to weapons such as pistols, shotguns and assault rifles you also use yourmelee combat techniques to eliminate enemies.
Your ammunition and resources are limited, but you can also use the surroundings for combat and not just for cover. With a powerful kick, crates and doors can become deadly projectiles
John Wick has already been given his own video game in 2020, in which things also get hot:
Future plans
The game is currently priced at 13 euros Early Access and is due to leave the test phase at the end of the year. According to the aforementioned roadmap, further levels, weapons and modes as well as a better tutorial are planned until then.
In addition, a stamina system will be introduced, which you will have to use for evasive maneuvers, sprints and the ability to slow down time. There is currently no timetable for the planned changes.
The game is well received in the reviews on Steam. In addition to the good shooter mechanics – which demand tactical skill from you – the matching techno soundtrack is also praised.
