Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been able to gather a huge fan base behind them in recent years via their podcast. The two are currently in Romania, where they are awaiting trial for human trafficking and exploitation of young questions. At the end of the trial, they are to be extradited to England. There, four women are also accusing them of human trafficking and rape. But now a controversial streamer has led to their arrest.
In February 2023, streamer Adin Ross was permanently banned from Twitch for streaming sexual content on the competing platform Kick. This was the eighth offense for the content creator, who had attracted attention in the past for gambling and spreading hate messages (Kotaku reported). Since then, Ross has moved entirely to Kick.
Ross’ acquaintances also include podcaster Andrew Tate. The latter is said to have told him in a message that he was planning to flee Romania. Before that, he wants to create new content with Ross for another week

It cannot be confirmed whether the streamer was telling the truth or just trying to generate attention. According to Rolling Stone, however, the stream is said to have caused enough suspicion among the British accusers’ lawyers, who then informed the British police. They in turn contacted the Romanian police, which led to the detention of Andrew Tate and his brother for 24 hours late on Monday evening.
The Tates’ defense denies that the brothers wanted to leave the country. Ross Adin is said to have merely misrepresented the message in question.
Romanian authorities against Andrew Tate
As reported by Der Spiegel, the Romanian authorities have so far been able to identify four of Andrew Tate’s victims. Three of them want to appear as plaintiffs in the proceedings against the brothers. They accuse the Tates of forcing them to perform sex scenes in a villa in Voluntari under the threat of gun violence, which were then disseminated on relevant websites.
Since then, the Romanian public prosecutor has confiscated a large part of the assets of the two Tate brothers. These include 15 properties, 15 luxury cars, 14 luxury watches and various other valuables such as precious metals, shares and crypto coins.
The Romanian authorities will probably announce what happens next for Andrew and Tristan Tate in the near future.
