The final DLC of the fourth season of Anno 1800 is crazy big. Here you can find all the information about the countless new goods and buildings. Oh, and the DLC has a date, too.

Ay, caramba! There”s actually a really huge DLC for Anno 1800 rolling towards us! It was recently made official what all is in Rise of the New World. The DLC is the culmination of the current Season, which is all about the New World.

And if you thought Anno 1800 couldn”t get any more complex, we have to disappoint you. The new DLC is full of additional commodity chains for the New World and brings with it so many resources that some Annoholics are already sweating.

So let”s get to work: Let”s first sort through this mountain of new information and get an overview:

This is the release date

The most important thing first: The expansion will be released on 8 December 2022 at 3 pm. So you”ll have to be patient until then – or get your island”s economy up to speed already.

The new population level

As already announced in advance, the DLC brings with it a completely new population level. In the future, the New World will not be the end of the road after the Obreros have been upgraded. The third population level is called Artistas and is an incredibly demanding group, but also brings in a lot of money. Ubisoft describes the Artistas as a population with extremely refined tastes and big dreams for the future.

How do you unlock Artistas? Once you host a total of 1,000 Obreros on an island, you unlock the next population level. As usual, however, you must first fulfil all the needs of a house before you can level it up.

Initially, there is room for 40 Artistas in a house, but with fulfilled needs, the limit rises to 80. If you own the first DLC of Season 4 Germ of Hope, you can house the Artistas in a new Hacienda building, where even twice as many are allowed to live.

(The Artistas live their best life and also like to go dancing or to the movies once in a while.)

New goods and production chains

In order to attract even more artistas and thus earn a fortune, we also have to produce new kinds of goods in the New World. And this is where the DLC really doesn”t hold back. You will have to produce countless new products with these expansions. Here is a complete overview:

  • (Footballs): With the help of a ball manufactory and leather from the new Nandu farm, you can produce footballs and invite your population to play a little football.
  • (Mezcal): If you do a lot of sport, you also have to drink a lot. That”s why the artistas prefer mezcal. A traditional drink that is served in the new mezcal bar. However, you will have to plant orchards with lemon trees, store sugar cane and harvest herbs in the new herb garden.
  • (Jalea): Besides a good drink, a tasty dish is quite good. The artistas here especially love a dish called jalea, which is produced in the calamari fishery.
  • (ice cream): For dessert, we have something sweet! Using milk from cattle farms, you can make delicious ice cream in an ice cream factory.
  • (Perfume): The artistas also like to smell good, so they buy perfume from the new perfume mixer. The goods needed for this are orchids, coconut oil and ethanol.
  • (Fans): Since it likes to get hot in the new world, the Artistas want fans. To produce these goods, they need two new factories. The cable factory and the motor assembly plant.
  • (Scooters): Hard to believe, but in Anno 1800 there will soon be electric scooters. No kidding. The Artistas want little blue Vespas to whizz around the neighbourhood. But the scooters are incredibly difficult to manufacture and need goods such as cables, motors or even pigments for paint.

New buildings

Of course, all these new goods and components require the corresponding production facilities. But the DLC also provides many additional buildings that serve as good entertainment. Especially in Rise of the New World, you will spend a lot of time making the leisure time of the population even more diverse than always sending them to the old familiar wrestling matches. How about instead …

  • (… a cinema!) Where your population can marvel at the first black and white flicks. Oh yes. For this to work, however, you must first produce roll film, which comes from the chemical factory. A multi-factory that is also available in the DLC Travel Time.
  • (… a samba school!) Where your residents can dance. But they will only do this if they are dressed appropriately. So you have to sew costumes out of cotton, pigments and Nandu feathers.
  • (… a beach house!) The beach house is a public service and ensures that the attractiveness of the island increases. The beach house has a radius that affects all the buildings within it. However, thanks to fancy beach ornaments such as ice cream parlours or lifeguard towers, this radius can be extended even further.
(The beach consists mainly of ornaments, but also influences the inhabitants .)

    .. a football stadium!

The last entertainment building is something very special. For it is the new monument for the New World. Like the World”s Fair, the Great Stadium will be built in several phases, devouring an enormous amount of goods and tying up our labour.

You can then use the stadium to call up a championship panel and play a football match. Depending on the size of your population, this is either a local, a regional or a worldwide match and brings different amounts of influence. Each match lasts 20 minutes and if you bring goods into the stadium during this time, the influence increases even more.

(You can decide when football matches are played in the stadium.)

    Revised buildings

Well, your head is spinning already! We”re still not at the end! Because Rise of the New World also brings the option of making your old buildings much more effective.

    Electricity

With the DLC, it is finally possible to use electricity in the New World. As in the Old World, you generate it with power plants and need oil for it – but there is plenty of it in the New World.

Buildings that are supplied with electricity produce their goods even faster. But some buildings even generate additional goods in the New World. Farms are particularly affected by this. Cattle pastures produce milk as a bonus good, alpaca pastures produce saltpetre and Nandu farms produce Nandu feathers.

    Emergency Services

If you still feel underutilised and think a few more bonus production chains can”t hurt, you”ll soon be allowed to supply emergency services with goods. So you can make sure that the fire brigade, police and hospital work even more effectively and, above all, fully automatically.

All you have to do is upgrade the buildings and then supply them with goods. The fire brigade needs fire extinguishers, the hospital needs medicine and the police station needs equipment. You build the latter in the arsenal, while medicines and fire extinguishers are both produced in the laboratory.

(All emergency services can be upgraded in the New World and then act completely automatically.)

    What about the new islands?

So many new buildings need a lot of space, of course, but Ubisoft doesn”t want to reveal how that will be created yet. So far there is only talk of a new large island called Manola. This island is also supposed to help supply all the other islands with electricity. But what exactly Manola is all about remains a secret for the time being.
