Anno 1800 The next DLC pack

The pedestrian zone package brings more than a few atmospheric ornaments. You’ll soon be able to lay decorative water channels with this DLC.

The third Season Pass of Anno 1800 found its crowning conclusion with Roofs of the City. But even after that, Annoholics can still buy more content afterwards. In addition to the large Season Pass DLCs, Anno 1800 also gets smaller Cosmetic Packs. These always contain new ornaments or other cosmetic embellishments for your city.

The next of these DLCs, the Pedestrian Zone Pack, has a particularly exciting visual innovation in store: with the new water channels, you can give your city a completely different flair. Ubisoft Mainz revealed the details in a new blog entry

Anno 1800: All release dates and info on Season 3

This is how the channels work

Water canals already exist in Anno 1800, but only with the help of the Land of the Lions DLC in Enbesa. Here, the canals even have a formative influence on the gameplay. The new cosmetic canals do not give you any new functions, but you can build decorative rivers, lakes or entire canal systems. Provided that the space in your city allows it.

The canal elements are laid like floor tiles, for example, and occupy individual tiles on the island. If you connect several of these canal tiles together, larger bodies of water are created, which makes lakes or, in this case, basins possible.

There will be two different types of canals. A canal with dirty water for your industrial area and a canal with clean ones for your pedestrian areas in the middle of the city. Should you build larger, clean canals, then residents of your metropolis can even drive boats around on them.

The developers cite famous water-related cities such as Amsterdam, Birmingham and, of course, Venice as inspiration for their canals. So if you take the time to decorate them, you can create a much different cityscape than before.

What else does the DLC bring?

In addition to the canals, there will be a whole range of other ornaments for your city centre. This should make the city centre look even more lively, which goes especially well with the city’s rooftops. After all, skyscrapers are already being built here, making Anno 1800 more like Anno 1900. You can see the complete list of ornaments here:
