In Anno: Mutationem, you slip into the skin of Ann, a deadly lone fighter who hunts criminals, uncovers secrets and even gets to try her hand at bartending in a gritty cyberpunk metropolis. The game uses a charming mix of 2D and 3D graphics and characters that look like a pixelated mix of anime and classic adventure characters.
Which brings us to the genre: The small indie title combines classic action adventure with RPG elements. In fast-paced sidescroller battles, you fight melee and boss battles, use the environment to your advantage and pass the time with mini-games in quiet moments.
Developer Thinking Stars promises a high level of gameplay freedom, allowing you to decide where you go and how you overcome challenges and encounters. The title is scheduled for release on Steam, PS4 and PS5 on 17 March 2022.
