Apex Legends seems to be on a climb and keeps breaking his own player records. We analyze why this is so.

More and more players since Steam Release
Until recently, Apex Legends was only playable on EA’s own Origin platform. However, it has also been available on Steam since November 5, 2020, where it can be downloaded and played for free as usual. Unlike other Origin games such as A Way Out, Apex Legends no longer requires you to launch the Origin Launcher in the background.
This may have convinced many players who have not yet downloaded the Origin Launcher, but would like to give Apex Legends a chance. Since the Steam release, the numbers have continued to grow steadily and there are more and more positive user reviews. Apex currently has around 164,000 user reviews – 91 percent of which are positive.
Steam recorded a noticeable jump in the number of active players for the 8th season release on February 2, 2021. In it the new legend Fuse was introduced, which is equipped with a grenade capability and a ring of fire. In addition, there was a new weapon, the 30-30 repeater, matching legendary magazines for all weapon classes and a new update of the Royal Gorge map.
In addition to the changes, the new season also introduced some minor updates that were wanted by the community. For example, a damage counter and further optimization of the color blindness mode.
The new season was a reason for many newcomers and newcomers to throw Apex Legends and plunge into battle. The season is still underway, but the number of players continues to rise.
There is almost always an event
This is due not only to the ongoing season but also to the anniversary event, which began on 9 February and was extended until 2 March, and the chaos theory event, which takes place from 9 to 23 March. Both events bring limited time game modes and peculiarities outside the leaderboard matches into play.
For example, in the Anniversary Event, there was only Level 2 and higher Loot as you started playing directly with a Mozambique and Level 1 Armor. As a result, exciting firefights were triggered directly after landing. In the Chaos Theory Event, there is no longer only a Deadly Ring on the King’s Gorge Map that limits your movement and keeps reducing the size of the map, but several that can also appear within the Big Ring.
Currently there is always an exciting new mode, so that fresh wind blows constantly and no boredom arises. It will be exciting again if Apex makes the same big leap when the 9th season is released. We don’t know when it’s time yet, but we’re tapping on a release in May 2021
We also see a similar increase on Twitch. Here, Apex Legends is also experiencing an upward spectator trend towards the Steam Release and the start of Season 8, which continues. The assumption is obvious that numbers of players and spectators influence each other.
Due to the increasing popularity of Apex Legends, it is also streaming more players. This in turn leads to their viewers also being willing to try Apex Legends once, which in turn leads to increasing numbers of players. Whether this trend will continue in the long run, however, probably depends on how Apex Legends develops as a game.
What is particularly exciting, by the way, is that the Battle Royale Shooter seems to be especially popular in Japan. Among the top 5 Apex Legends streamers, there are the two Japanese streamers Kato Junichi and stylishnoob4, both of which are generally very popular in Japan.
An all-round good package
All the reasons listed only work, of course, because Apex itself offers a good shooter experience and a round Battle Royal, which is constantly evolving and obviously doing much right.
Apex Legends remains exciting thanks to the new legends and new events. Thanks to the cross-play between PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and now also Nintendo Switch, you can interact with your friends regardless of your platform. A port for iOS and Android is also planned. So if Apex Legends continues like this, the rising player trend could continue.
