Was it worth the wait? Intel’s discrete graphics cards are just around the corner. Now they have officially unveiled the new flagship GPU along with price and release date.
After a long wait and many postponements, the time has finally come: Intel’s discrete Arc graphics cards will soon be released – and not only in China.
At the InnovatiON event, the semiconductor giant unveiled the largest of its first three mid-range cards, with which it hopes to roll up the old one-on-one battle between AMD and Nvidia: the Arc A770.
According to Intel manager Ryan Shrout, further information on the two unmentioned graphics cards, the A750 and A580, as well as on the flagship will be provided later this week.
For anyone curious, we will have more details about the A750 later this week. Stay tuned to https://t.co/JzUa1yrDLp!!

Intel Arc: Release date and price
There should be just over two weeks until the launch of the new Intel graphics card. Intel has revealed 12 October as the launch date for the A770.
The graphics card is to cost 329 US dollars at the start. This means that the card will cost as much as the RTX 3060 and the RX 6600 at release last year.
The prices in euros that customers in this country will have to pay may, of course, be a good deal higher.
Intel Arc: Specifications
Intel itself gives little information about the specifications of the new graphics card. However, the new Intel cards are said to rely on the in-house Xe cores. According to rumours, the top model, the Arc A770, has 32 of the cores and thus offers a total of 512 execution units.
Intel Arc: Performance
As with the rest of the graphics card presentation, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger is brief on the performance of the graphics card.
The competition, presumably the RTX 3060 from Nvidia, is to be beaten in ray tracing performance by 65 percent at the peak.
A taste of the performance of the A750, the smaller sister of the model presented today, can be found in a leaked benchmark.
Intel Arc: Should you go for the new graphics cards?
After the rather modest release of the small Arc A380, it is understandable that many of you are sceptical about the new Intel graphics cards. In tests, the card did not even reach the level of Nvidia’s GTX 1650 or AMD’s Radeon RX 6400.
But Intel wants to do a lot better with the new mid-range cards. The Arc A750, for example, is supposed to be at about the same level as an RTX 3060 and thus be able to play in the midfield without having to hide.
Of course, a newcomer in the discrete graphics card market represents a higher risk when buying than relying on a well-known player like AMD or Nvidia. More than ever, it is therefore important to wait for independent tests of the new models and form your own opinion before buying. Especially since the official facts are still very thin.
