One player shows how you can make it through the game without firing a single round. In the process, the Armored Core turns out to be extremely deadly on its own.

Surely there are many gamers out there who rather frown at the sight of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon they simply want to see more Elden Ring . Youtuber ZeroLenny has now come up with a way that would surely please many a sword-and-shield hulk from the interlands: He successfully fought his way through Armored Core 6. Firearms of any kind were forbidden in this Challenge-Run

He shows you exactly what that looks like in the Youtube video linked above.

A matter of ramming, punching and kicking

Once all weapons are discarded in Armored Core 6, the player is left with only three attacks: ramming via boost, punching or kicking. Through various upgrades, ZeroLenny maximized his damage output and agility to quickly get to enemies and, after a few punches or a kick, get away.

For example, he uses a battery that takes a short time to recharge if possible, but tends to have less total capacity: ideal for hit-and-run maneuvers. For the Armored Core’s lower body, he chose the four-legged variant, as it represents a good compromise between agility and kick damage.

However, there was one thing ZeroLenny definitely had to have in abundance: Patience. Because even though large parts of the game are quite fast, the final bosses sometimes require more than just a good understanding of the mechanics and positioning. Above all, he had to have time and frost tolerance in his luggage, since failures are likely and his damage values are lower compared to more explosive playstyles.

However, one of the main advantages of the primitive method of combat is the staggering of opponents, which causes even quite a few stronger variants to collapse after a few hits without stamina.

Tutorial as a challenge

Even the tutorial mission turned out to be particularly challenging, because in this one the player hasn’t had the chance to put down the weapons yet, so he can’t punch yet, for example. ZeroLenny therefore rammed millimeter after millimeter of his life bar away from the flying boss with crashing full-body attacks against the armor.

What do you guys think of this play style? Do you also now mount the weapons from your Armored Core right in the mechbay and go punching, ramming and kicking into the next battle? Have you ever taken on a challenge run in From Software? Feel free to post your experience and opinion in the comments!
