Rumours suggest that the dream of an Assassin”s Creed remake might actually come true. An impressive video shows what it could look like in Unreal Engine 5
The very first Assassin”s Creed is already almost 15 years old, but could soon make its comeback. In the last few months, rumours and speculation have been rife that Altair”s great adventure will be getting a remake – but this has not been officially confirmed to date.
A new fan video shows what a remake of Assassin”s Creed in the year 2022 could look like in the Unreal Engine 5. The scenes shown will undoubtedly make some fans reminisce about secretly assassinating lousy Templars. For example, Géraldine, who would definitely be up for an AC remake!
An old assassin in a new guise
This is what the video shows: The following video is a project of the YouTube channel TeaserPlay. The people behind it keep releasing new concept trailers for wishful sequels, prequels, remakes or remasters of our favourite video games that we may never get.
Like how the potential remakes of games like Bully, Fallout: New Vegas or Red Dead Revolver would look if extreme emphasis was placed on graphics. Now it”s Ubisoft”s Assassin”s Creed”s turn, which has been given a general overhaul in the Unreal Engine 5 by TeaserPlay. Take a look at the concept yourself:
What are the chances of an AC remake?
This is what the latest rumours say: speculation about a remake of the first Assassin”s Creed is nothing new!
The YouTuber (j0nathan) shared a lot of alleged information about the possible next title in the series, large parts of this leak were confirmed by Ubisoft personally shortly afterwards. According to this, the next Assassin”s Creed is indeed called Mirage, revolves around the main character Basim and takes place in Baghdad between the years 860 and 870. Basim is of course already familiar to fans of the Ubisoft series from Assassin”s Creed Valhalla.
In this context, it is exciting that a remake of the first Assassin”s Creed is supposed to be part of Mirage”s Season Pass, according to j0nathan. The remake is to be created in the technical framework of Mirage and reuse many assets from it.
