With Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third part of the series will start before the end of 2025. The main characters Neytiri and Jake will meet the new Ash clan.

Avatar 1 and 2 are both among the top three most successful films of all time (via Box Office Mojo ). Will the third film by master director James Cameron also make it into the top three? We’ll find out on December 17, 2025, when Fire and Ash takes us back to the colorful world of Pandora.

To prepare for the upcoming release, there are now a few new images. In an interview with Empire, Caneron also reveals new plot details

First images and the introduction of the new peoples

New to the series is the Ash Clanand the Na’vi, led by the selfless Varang (Oona Chaplin). You can see a first picture of the people here:

According to James Cameron, the clan has been scarred by a difficult past. He says specifically:

Varang is the leader of a people who have experienced an incredible catastrophe. These experiences have made her hardened. She would do anything for her people, even things we would consider evil.

And what element is still missing? Exactly, wind! That’s why the so-called “Wind Traders”are coming onto the scene in Avatar: Fire and Ash. Here you can see the first concept art:

The Wind Traders are “nomadic traders comparable to the camel caravans on the spice route in the Middle Ages.” Cameron continues:

And you know, they’re just fun. Like all Na’vi, they live in symbiosis with their creatures. If you have nautic blood in your veins, you’ll want to be on [their] ship.

So in part 3, we welcome two completely different peoples, who have been shaped differently by their respective experiences.
