A new update polishes off two more edges on the role-playing hit and also fixes some annoying bugs. We’ve got the full patch notes for you
How do you make an already nearly flawless role-playing game just a touch better? Ask Larian, because they obviously know how to do it. After all, they recently released Hotfix 9 for Baldur’s Gate 3 and now guess what it brings in terms of new features and bug fixes?!

Hotfix 9 is now live for Baldur’s Gate 3. In addition to this update fixing several bugs, issues and crashes, you can now change your name through the Magic Mirror, as well as changing the appearance of Hirelings!

More adjustment for renters
At the outset: We have not put the patch notes on a separate page of this article, as is usually the case, because they are really not that extensive. Nevertheless, there are two special features in Hotfix 9 that deserve to be in the limelight:
- Customisations for hirelings: No, we don’t mean your neighbours, but the NPCs you can hire in the course of your 800-hour adventure. Until now, their appearance was fixed, but now you can also visually customise them to your liking.
- Change your name: From now on, you can also change the name of your hero or villain character in the game afterwards. This is ideal for people who really want to experience role-playing intensively as … well, role-playing.

- You can now use the magic mirror on hirelings.
- You can now change your name using the Magic Mirror.

- Optimises the line of sight system for objects without line of sight, such as objects.
