Fans of Baldur”s Gate 3 should definitely not expect the release of the full version this year. Larian Studios finally give an update on how things look for 2023
For more than two years Baldur”s Gate 3 has been available in Early Access. But when is the full version finally due for release? The developers of Larian Studios have finally made an official statement in the course of a new blog post.
And lo and behold: Baldur”s Gate 3 is well on its way to the final release in 2023. In December of this year, we could finally get a concrete date – as Larian Studios have promised us.

Baldur”s Gate 3 – the current state
This was known so far: Baldur”s Gate 3 launched into Early Access on October 6, 2020. Since then, the developers at Larian Studios have been working steadily on the role-playing game, delivering updates at regular intervals and maintaining a constant exchange with the community.
Originally, Baldur”s Gate 3 was planned to be in Early Access for a similarly long time as Divinity: Original Sin 2. In direct comparison, the previous role-playing game by Larian Studios already took a whole year less – in addition, the developers have already announced that it will definitely not be released in full in 2022.
What”s new now? On the other hand Baldur”s Gate 3 is now on a good way to finally be released as a full version in 2023. This is the result of a new blog update of the developers on Steam. So Act 2 and Act 3 of the role-playing game are currently in their playtesting phase, while bugs are being ironed out, the complete game is being polished and player feedback continues to be taken into account.
There is also talk of new features coming no later than 2023. Ultimately, even fans who already know Act 1 of Baldur”s Gate 3 inside and out should be offered something new. We are promised further updates for December 2022, most likely we can even expect a final release date then.
By the way: Also Patch 9 for Baldur”s Gate 3 is in the starting blocks, after Patch 8 was released in July 2022 and Patch 7 in February 2022.
