The role-playing game will apparently get an option for changing character appearance. This was hinted by a Larian employee on social media

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game in which you can spend several hours just creating your own character. The customization options are varied and go so far that you can even customize the genitals of your creation.

In fact, developer Larian revealed in a statistic that fans have spent a total of a whopping 88 years of time in the character editor

There is one problem though: Once the creation is complete, the character’s appearance cannot be changed. This is expected to change in the future.

Director of Publishing responds to a fan request

Michael Douse, the Director of Publishing at Larian, is one of the developers who is very active on Twitter (you can call it X, of course) and interacts a lot with the community. He receives many requests from fans on a daily basis, which include requests for a character editor later in the game.

In one such request, Twitter user TheTrustedTitan asks him, “Sir, please let me change how I look in the game. I beg you!” To which Douse responds with a brief, “Things are in the works. “

The news was received with joy on Twitter. Fans expressed their gratitude in the comments under Douse’s reply and expressed further feature requests for the game.

The demand for a subsequent character editor was already boiling up during Baldur’s Gate 3’s Early Access. Some players found their original look unappealing, while others simply wanted to try something new or customize their appearance to create a better role-playing experience.

The choices and consequences experienced while playing should also be reflected in the character’s appearance. A paladin who became an oathbreaker should also look like one.

This will probably be possible in the future according to Douse. When exactly the feature will be implemented is unknown though So it might take a while until the fans can change their characters afterwards

Is this feature something you are missing in Baldur’s Gate 3 as well or do you find such an option pointless? Feel free to write it in the comments!
