The PC release of Baldur’s Gate was a gigantic success. Now we know when Playstation players will also be able to plunge into Larian’s role-playing milestone.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is undoubtedly one of the most promising contenders for the title of Game of the Year 2023. The role-playing game by the Belgian developers Larian got off to a dream start on the PC, attracting over 875,000 players in the second weekend after its launch alone.
So far, however, only home computer owners have been able to enjoy Baldur’s Gate – console players were left out in the cold. But that will soon change – at least for the PlayStation owners among you.
Playstation owners please fasten your seatbelts!
It is already well known that there will be a PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3. Now developer Larian has revealed when it will be launched. Just like on the PC, PlayStation players will also be able to enjoy an Early Access phase. In order for you to be able to get started right away, Larian will be activating a preload download.
PS5 players, prepare for adventure.

For buyers of the Digital Deluxe Edition, the preload will start on 31 August 2023 at 18:00 German time. For owners of the Standard Edition, on the other hand, it will start on 4 September 2023 at 18:00 German time. Digital Deluxe owners can therefore start downloading four days earlier
When can you play?
The start of the Early Access phase on Playstation will be similar. Officially, this phase will start on 6 September 2023 at 18:00 time. Owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition, however, will be able to get started on 2 September, i.e. four days earlier.
By the way, Playstation players should also benefit from the bug fixes of the PC version. All improvements will be carried over to the console version. As far as the Xbox version of the game is concerned, however, Larian is still keeping quiet. A release date for this has not yet been set.
What’s inside the Digital Deluxe Edition?

- The Divinity Bard Pack with songs from the previous Larian game.

- An adventurer’s pouch with camp supplies and potions to get you started
- The digital soundtrack, artbook and character sheets of some of the original characters
