No joke: Swen Vincke was very worried before the release of the role-playing game that the adventure would be too short

Who hasn’t been there? You’re looking forward to a nice evening withBaldur’s Gate 3, you’ve put salty sticks and your favorite drink on your desk, shut out the outside world with a hearty door slam – and then suddenly the role-playing game is already over! Oh, how annoying! Such a short role-playing snack, who’s going to get enough of that, please?

Moment, what? Hang on, we’ve probably landed in the wrong movie. Baldur’s Gate 3 is known to keep us busy for over 100 hours, despite the fact that a lot of the planned content was cut before release

The reason for our totally funny (!) lead story: According to Larian CEO Swen Vincke, he was very worried that the role-playing epic would be too short.

Baldur’s Gate 3 could have been even bigger

In a very worthwhile interview with BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) Swen Vincke reveals all kinds of private details from his life as a video gamer, including his favorite genre, his first game and many little anecdotes

Then he is specifically asked:What secrets about Baldur’s Gate 3 don’t fans know yet?His first reaction: “There are many things that people don’t know yet. After a brief pause for thought, Vincke reveals that the Moonrise towers were originally supposed to be much bigger.

Moreover, several regions were removed from the gamein order to meet the targeted release date. And despite all this evidence of how much content Baldur’s Gate 3 has to offer, Swen Vincke concludes by chatting about:

I was originally afraid that the game would be too short, but I’ve always been notoriously bad at estimating the length of our games.

There you have it: Swen Vincke may not be an ace at estimating lengths. But he can create fantastic role-playing games!

Well, did you feel like playing your 48th Baldur’s Gate 3 game after reading this? If so, there’s probably nothing more we can teach you, which is why we’ve refrained from linking to any helpful guides in the box above.

Instead, we have an article on bear sex, official mod support and the big Patch 7, which will be released soon. That’s something, isn’t it!
