Are shirts and messages about a Call of Duty tournament too sexy for Twitch? FaZe Clan streamer Kalei Renay counters accusations.

The platform Twitch banned Call of Duty streamer Kalei Renay for three days on Wednesday for sexually suggestive behaviour. The 22-year-old US-American from the FaZe Clan then turned to Twitch in anger: she definitely would not have violated the rules.

Kalei turned to her fans shortly after the ban and criticised the streaming provider’s measure. She would only wear oversized jumpers and shirts. Although she once wore something that showed her tattoo on her collarbone, she does not consider it justified to receive a ban for this.

According to the message from Twitch, which she shared on Twitter, the reason for the ban is sexually suggestive behaviour. The streaming provider lists the following as general misconduct:

  • Explicit gestures towards breasts, buttocks or genitals.
  • Describing a sexual experience in great detail or over a long period of time.
  • Sharing sexual content includes drawn or modelled art.

However, the bottom part of the message says the ban would not apply to her clothes, but to a message in a public or private chat. However, Kalei pointed out in another tweet that she was hardly in chats. Her only messages during the period were in Call of Duty pro Edy “Newbz” Juan’s chat, which were said to have been about tournament in terms of content.

For Kalei, it was not the first time that one of her channels was blocked. In June this year, her TikTok channel was reported and eventually removed from the platform. The reason was accusations that she was cheating in her Warzone videos. These theories were never confirmed.
