Unrecord recently made a name for itself with its almost frighteningly realistic graphics. Now scammers lure you with an alleged release

The shooter Unrecord caused a stir in April with its extraordinarily realistic graphics. Since the trailer from that time could partly be mistaken for the footage of a real bodycam, there was even a debate about the authenticity of the game. Now, however, scammers are using the shooter to willfully deceive you. The developers warn of a nasty scam.

What happened?

The Technical Director of Unrecord, Alexandre Spindler issued an urgent warning on Twitter. Thus, false ads on YouTube would promote a supposedly already playable version of the shooter. In fact, however, the game has not yet been released and there is not even a release date.

Spindler’s tweet asks you to report the ads to Google if you see them Under no circumstances should you click on the links Meanwhile, Unrecord developers are working on a solution to the problem. What the misleading ads look like can be seen in the two images in the tweet linked above.

What is Unrecord actually?

Unrecord is a tactical first-person shooter in development, in which you investigate various criminal cases as a police officer. In addition to the shooter passages already shown in the first trailer, difficult moral decisions and complex dialogues will also play a big role in the game, according to the developers.

Unrecord became known mainly for its extremely realistic graphics. In a first trailer, the shooter was for many players partly indistinguishable from a real bodycam recording. But it’s best to see for yourself:

The extremely realistic-looking trailer not only led to Unrecord now being one of the (most wanted games on Steam) but also caused discussions. While initially still some players doubted the authenticity of the trailer, a debate followed about whether the shooter was not too realistic . Why the deceptively real-looking images from Unrecord and similar games make him uncomfortable, Peter explains to you in his column.

Had you already forgotten about Unrecord after the big realism debate in April? Or did the graphically impressive shooter also end up on your Steam wishlist?
