If you want to know how the Chinese action RPG runs on your own PC, you can download the benchmark tool for the game

In exactly one week, on August 20, 2024, the highly anticipated gameBlack Myth: Wukongby Chinese studio Game Science

will be released.

According toSteamDBthis is not only the most requested game of recent times, but also the one that is currently selling the best. But it’s not just the action RPG itself that many players are focusing on

One week before release, the decoupledbenchmark toolis also generating a lot of interest, as the currentaround 65,000 concurrent usersshow.

You can already download this for free and see approximately how many frames per second you can expect in Black Myth: Wukong.

After just a few hours in the Steam store, the benchmark program with in-game graphics in Unreal Engine 5 already has almost 700 reviews, 95 percent of which are positive – an example:

The graphics are breathtaking and the best that 2024 has to offer. It even runs smoothly on a 7 year old PC.

We have already tried out the tool.

It remains to be seen how close the results in the benchmark will be to the performance in the actual game. Nevertheless, it is interesting to take a look at the tool

This is how well the benchmark of Black Myth: Wukong

Even with an RTX 2070 Super, the benchmark sequence runs in 4K resolution and the graphics presetHighwith a reasonably smooth 40 FPS on average.

Although we recommend either a more powerful graphics card or a lower level of detail for this resolution level. For all those who want to see the whole thing for themselves without having to download the 11 gigabytes, we have recorded the benchmark in the video:

A scaler is also permanently implemented You can choose between TSR, FSR, DLSS and XeSS, each of which is preset to 50 percent (power mode)

Nvidia’s DLSS cuts the best figure as usual. But the game also looks quite respectable with AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS. Only TSR drops significantly and flickers with distant objects

In terms of performance, all scalers perform about equally well. Turning up the sharpness control therefore costs the same amount of FPS for all of them.

With an RTX 4090, we can then draw on the full potentialand can select both ray tracing in the highest mode and the Cinemapreset. We then achieve an average of 61 FPS with barely noticeable outliers to 49 FPS. With Frame Generation activated, it is 96 FPS.

Without the real-time beam calculation and with the presetHighthe average is even 120 FPS – without frame generation. The difference betweenCinema,UltraandHighis manageable. However, we have also used the preset Power mode (sharpness control set to 50 percent) here

At 100 percent (which corresponds to DLAA when using DLSS) and with the highest detail level including ray tracing set to the limit, even our RTX 4090 is brought to its knees. Then it’s only a measly 23 FPS on average.

In terms of video memory, Black Myth: Wukong is quite frugal, at least in the benchmark. In 4K at the highest detail level including ray tracing, 11.3 GByte (sharpness control 100 percent) and 9.7 GByte (sharpness control 50 percent) are used.

The system requirements of Black Myth: Wukong
