Team17 and The Game Kitchen officially announced Blasphemous II last night. During the (Nintendo Direct) there were first gameplay glimpses to be seen.

The Remorseful One is back! Blasphemous II picks up after the events of the 2021 update Wounds of Eventide  and snatches the protagonist from his final rest. In an unknown land, he finds himself in a never-ending cycle of life, death, and resurrection.

The Miracle, a supernatural being from the first part, forces the repentant to destroy the monsters lurking in the new world and prevent the birth of a new child prodigy at all costs.

In addition to grotesque enemies, titanic bosses await the repentant in Blasphemous II, who will only love to send him back to the grave. Fortunately, you’ll get a number of new weapons and abilities to fight them. On your way to the eternal battle, you’ll also have to find out more about the new world and uncover its eerie secrets.

As the developer and publisher announce, you can expect a non-linear storyline in Blasphemous II, which will make you regret wrong decisions for a long time. However, customizable adjustments of the repentant will help you establish your own fighting style and stand up to your enemies.

Blasphemous II is scheduled for release at the end of this year for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
