Borderlands 2 The best DLC

Epic is giving away Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep for a short time. And you don’t even need the base game to play.

Dungeons & Dragons is also becoming more and more popular in the mainstream. This is shown not only by successful YouTube channels such as Critical Role, but also by upcoming games such as Baldur’s Gate 3, and of course Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, in which the special Borderlands charm is to be married with the pen&paper principle. To give you a taste for the game, developer Gearbox is now giving away the matching DLC from Borderlands 2 as a standalone version.

We have all the information you need to get Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep for free in the Epic Games Store. Here’s the first five minutes of gameplay so you know right away what to expect:

How to get the free standalone DLC

When is this promotion valid? You have until 16 November at 5pm to secure Assault on Dragon Keep. After that it will cost ten euros.

How do I get the free game? You need an account at Epic, where you log in. On the shop page, simply click on the “Get” button and the game will land in your shopping cart with a 100 percent discount and you can add it to your library for free.

For whom is this worthwhile? If you like the wacky and exaggerated humour of Borderlands and you want to play a virtual round of “Bunkers & Badasses”, then don’t miss out on Assault on Dragon Keep. Thanks to the action, you don’t have to spend hours shooting your way through Borderlands, but can jump straight into the adventure. Attention: The graphics and gameplay have not been changed, so don’t expect a remaster!

The DLC is still considered by many fans to be the best of the entire shooter series. We even gave it a place among our top 10 game expansions of all time. There are a hell of a lot of good ideas in the roughly ten hours of gameplay and Tiny Tina is the most chaotic game master imaginable – rules only ever apply until she changes her mind.

Of course, there is a very clear intention behind this free promotion, and Gearbox makes no secret of this in the promotion description: you should get a taste for it and then put the upcoming Borderlands spinoff Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands on your wish list. After all, that’s what finally turns the idea of the DLC into a full-fledged game.

By the way, Assault on Dragon Keep is now also available as a standalone game on Steam. However, it is currently receiving mostly negative user ratings there because it costs ten euros directly and it is often cheaper to buy the complete Borderlands 2 package in the sale.
