At the ONL showcase at gamescom 2024, Borderlands 4 was announced after a long wait and the first information was revealed
After a new Borderlands has been repeatedly hinted at in recent weeks and months, especially by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, the time has finally come.
During the Opening Night Live show at gamescom 2024, Borderlands 4was announced and the first trailer for the upcoming loot shooter was shown. A rough release window and all supported platforms were also revealed
The story will continue seamlessly
The first cinematic trailer for Borderlands 4 shows an explosion that fans of the series will already recognize from the end of Borderlands 3. It then shows a portal opening and numerous asteroids raining down on an alien planet.
Towards the end of the video, an unknown creature with claws and a metal arm is shown approaching one of the craters and picking up one of the fallen objects. As it turns out, it’s not a rock or anything similar, but one of Borderlands’ trademark psycho masks.
Borderlands 4 is scheduled for release in 2025for PC (Steam and Epic), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S It is once again being developed by Gearbox Software

The Borderlands film starring Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Florian Monteanu, Jack Black and Kevin Hart will also be released on August 22. The action-comedy mix has already been released in the USA, but has failed to impress either viewers or the trade press and is being literally torn apart online. In fact, it is so badly received that even the controversial director Uwe Boll is making fun of it
