A new patch is expected in February that will bring back the burglars known from previous versions.

In real life, you usually hope you never have to make the acquaintance of a burglar. They steal expensive inventory, break things, and then there’s the hassle of dealing with the authorities afterwards – nobody likes that.

In The Sims series, on the other hand, burglars were part of a good gaming experience in the first three parts. In The Sims 4, however, they excelled with absence, much to the regret of many players. Currently, however, the rumor is that they could soon return. When

The burglars return

The latest patch for The Sims has not only fixed some bugs but also introduced an event that can be described as a “Throwback Thursday” event To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series, players can now earn iconic items from past Sims games since February 4. Among them was a milk carton that looks very suspicious.

The description for this decorative object, “A sophisticated Sim, not a raccoon,” in combination with the image printed on it, leads many to suspect that burglars may soon find their way back into our neighborhoods.

In addition, the well-known Sims insider SimMattically has promised on Twitter/X that it could be as early as February 25:

When could the update arrive?

It is rumored that the Burglar Update could go live on February 25 A hint of this can be found in the Motherlode Season roadmap

The title of the season is also an allusion to a popular cheat that can be used to flush a lot of cash into household coffers. So, thieving magpies would fit in quite well thematically.

Of course, we can’t say for sure whether we’ll really need to set our alarms that day again. It would be nice though.

Burglars were a fixture in the first three main parts of the series. They usually invaded the home at night when the Sims were fast asleep in bed. If you had an alarm system, they would secretly make valuables disappear into their sack and disappear into the distance.

Until now, the only way to get the scoundrels was to mod The Sims 4. If the speculation is correct, however, that will soon be history.
