From the Hamburg elevated railway to managing your own bus company: We give you all the info from Next Sim 22.
For the third time, Aerosoft organised its own fair called Next Sim. True to the name, everything revolved around current and upcoming simulation games from the German publisher.
If you missed the stream, don”t worry. We summarise the 45-minute livestream for you and introduce you to the most exciting new announcements.
SubwaySim Hamburg
NextSim 22 starts with the announcement of SubwaySim Hamburg, which is being developed in cooperation with Hamburger Hochbahn AG. In it, you can experience the U3 line of the Hochbahn and take the lead over the DT5 railcar. The developers promise an authentic recreation of the 20.7-kilometre-long line, on which you will also pass some of Hamburg”s sights.
New technology: SubwaySim Hamburg is created with the Unreal Engine 5 and is therefore supposed to be particularly detailed. You can get a first glimpse of the game in the teaser trailer above. However, it will still take a while until the release, because SubwaySim Hamburg is not scheduled for release until the first half of 2023.
City Bus Manager
You have to travel by bus regularly and have been disappointed by the timetable several times? Then you can soon do better in City Bus Manager. In the business simulation from developer PeDeBe, who have previously produced DLCs for OMSI 2, you set up your own bus company – in a famous city of your choice.
You take care of hiring new employees, create comprehensible timetables, maintain your buses and, above all, be punctual. After all, at the end of the day you want to get good reviews from your passengers to gradually make your company bigger and more successful.
Real data: The City Bus Manager uses OpenStreetMap data and even adopts real routes including real bus times. Of course, you can also adapt these optionally and do not necessarily have to follow them.
Regarding the release, it is said that the City Bus Manager will be released this year. However, there is no exact date as yet.
CityDriver
The third new announcement on the part of Aerosoft is the CityDriver, which is about authentic driving within a big city. To be more precise, it is about Munich, which you can drive freely with different cars.
In addition to pure driving, you can take care of completing missions and challenges. Before doing so, however, you should take appropriate training in the driving school so that you don”t constantly get out of line in Munich”s traffic.
C
CityDriver is to be launched in Early Access on Steam in the near future. When exactly, however, is currently still open.
More announcements
Besides the three big new announcements, Aerosoft also delivered a few updates to the current lineup together with the respective developer studios. We summarise these for you briefly and concisely:
- The Bus: For the bus simulation, which is set entirely in Berlin, there is a new line that passes the Mercedes-Benz Arena, among other things, and four new buses.
- Winter Resort Simulator 2: Just in time for the start of the winter season, a new DLC is to be released with Riedstein, which includes a new game world, three new cable cars and a 3rd-person skier mode for single player and multiplayer.
- Heavy Cargo: The heavy load transport simulation is unfortunately being postponed a little. Instead of the end of 2022, the game is now to be released in early 2023 – there is no exact date yet.
- Heavy Duty Challenge: HDC suffers a similar fate, as the off-road game with heavy trucks will also only be released in 2023 and no longer this year.
- Notruf 112 – Angriffstrupp: A spin-off for consoles in which, as the title suggests, you start directly with the attack squad. Currently still in a prototype phase.
Equip Hamburg, Munich or the whole world with buses: Are you happy about the NextSim 22 announcements or do the simulations presented leave you cold? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments!
