In September, the vampire hunt starts anew with Castlevania Nocturne. A first teaser trailer for the upcoming bloodsucker action was presented by Netflix last week.

Even though Netflix has finished the story of Alucard, Trevor and Sypha, the anime adaptation of Castlevania is far from over. Instead, they present us with Castlevania Nocturne, a continuation of the events. It takes place 300 years later in France in 1792, at the height of the French Revolution.

At the centre of Castlevania Nocturne are Judge Belmont and his distant relative Maria Renard. Both should be familiar to fans of Symphany of the Night and Rondo of Blood  The series is mainly intended to be an origin story of the fan-favourite judge, which is why his partner Annette is also an integral part of the series.

The new series kicks off on 28 September with eight episodes, each expected to be 25 minutes long. In the original English, actor Edward Bluemel voices Judge Belmont. Actress Thuso Mbedu voices Annette and actress Pixie Davis, just 16 years old, takes on the role of Maria Renard.
