You’ve always wanted to experience wild shootouts in your own spaceship, but Star Wars: Squadron was too thin on story for you? Then the soon to be released Chorus might be for you! The shooter genre, as is generally known, is one of the most established in the entire video game world. However, there are only a handful of space shooters that play in weightlessness. From 03 December 2021, Chorus from the German developer Fishlabs will join this list and really shake up the genre. We tell you everything you need to know about the launch.

This is Chorus

Chorus is first and foremost a story-driven single-player space shooter that impresses with its dense atmosphere. Instead of just roaring from one space battle to the next, there will also be an extensive and emotional story between the conflicts. You slip into the skin of the protagonist Nara, a young pilot on the run. The special thing about her spaceship is that it has a consciousness of its own and is therefore more than just a collection of screws and cannons, but an emotional contributor to the story, which is influenced and shaped by dark fantasy and science fiction elements.

The gameplay will mainly consist of clashes in space, which is set up like an open world, or rather open space. That means you travel from planet to planet, doing side quests as well as storylines of the main quest, which is the main focus of Chorus. The main quest is about a dark cult that is hunting our space pilot. But free exploration is not neglected either. Gradually, of course, you unlock new weapons and abilities for Nara and her ship. In the tradition of classic arcade space shooters, there will also be fat end bosses in which you will need all your resources and unlocked upgrades.

A shooter of the more classic kind, namely Battlefield 2042 is really flopping on Steam right now. Hopefully Chorus will do better with its single player approach.
