Release & Early Access: When will Civ 7 be released?

Civilization 7 will be released on February 11, 2025 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. This allows fans to choose whether they want to play the strategy game on PC or console right at release.
Early Access starts on February 6, 2025 and will be unlocked for buyers of the Deluxe or Founder Edition. So if you have more money to spend, you can get started up to five days earlier, but you have to buy a pig in a poke. We have briefly presented all versions and their prices for you below.

Civilization 7 is coming to PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store.The Steam version will support SteamOS so you can play on Linux and Mac.
The Switch version has some limitations.For example, you cannot play maps of size Standard or larger and there are fewer players in multiplayer.
Price & Versions: How much does Civilization 7 cost?
The standard edition of Civilization 7 costs 70 euros on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox and 60 euros on the Nintendo Switch. Multiplayer: What does Civ 7 offer in multiplayer mode?
You can also play Civilization 7 with your friends in multiplayer mode.The number of players in a round depends on the starting age and platform chosen.

Crossplay: Can PC and console play together?

Civilization 7 supports cross-play between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. To use cross-play, you must link your Civ 7 to a 2K account.
A linked 2K account also ensures cross-progression.Your progress can then be shared across all platforms linked to the same account. Please also note the Switch version’s limitations regarding map sizes and maximum player numbers.
Gameplay: How does Civilization 7 play?
Civilization 7 brings a fresh take on the Civ universe and turns some game mechanics on their head. For example, there are now selectable civilizations in each era. You can read more about this in Martin’s extensive Civ7 preview.
Civ 7 is divided into three eras: ancient, discovery and modern.For each of the three eras, you choose a new civilization, so you change several times during the course of a game. Only your leader remains the same. This should make the game more balanced.
What other innovations are there?
- Leader: At the start of a game, you choose a leader. The leader presides over your nation, is not changed, and has their own talent tree that you can use to develop the leader’s strengths.
- Changing the era: All players will switch to a new era and choose a new civilization at the same time. This will also put an end to the fighting between Hoplites and attack helicopters.
- Cities: Your cities are divided into urban and rural areas in Civ 7. City buildings can only be placed on urban areas, while you only mine resources on rural terrain.
- Special District: Each civilization has two unique buildings. If you construct them together, a special district will be created.
- Towns:;nbsp;In addition to cities, there are also towns that you can use to extract (special) resources and redirect them to your cities.
Civilization 7 dares to make major changes to familiar game mechanics and provides a breath of fresh air with the change of civilizations. How well these gameplay changes work remains to be seen. But now you are already provided with the most important information about the release of Civ 7.
