At its release on Steam, the satirical shooter Clownfield 2042 receives very good reviews. The game takes the piss out of Battlefield and NFTs.

Just two weeks after its initial announcement, the biting Battlefield parody Clownfield 2042 has appeared on Steam – and it’s going down really well right away: The user ratings stand at 89 percent positive, which in Steam jargon means “very positive”. Many players are celebrating the satire project, which is anything but perfect. On purpose, of course.

What exactly is Clownfield 2042? In a nutshell: This first-person shooter with intentionally bad graphics mercilessly parodies the mixed release of Battlefield 2042 and spices it up with criticism of NFTs in games. The trailer gives you a pretty good impression:

We already presented the project to you in more detail when it was announced, you can read all the important information here:

What do the players say about it?

The Steam ratings clearly show that most people like the humour of Clownfield 2042. And of course, many reviews are also meant with a wink. A small selection:

“Just what I was waiting for. 10/10, looks like Dice really took it seriously ”

deepy

“Clownfield 2042 represents the pinnacle, the peak, the most modern of the FPS genre. The eye for detail, the respect for art is simply breathtaking. (…) ”

Grasker

What a perfectly balanced game. There’s no grenade spam at all.

However, Clownfield 2042 is not a complete nonsense game, but offers some features that are missing in Battlefield 2042, for example map voting, server browser, a visible scoreboard and a voice chat. Dice wants to deliver some of these features in their game via an update.

The Day 0 patch for Clownfield contained, among other things, a new map – something that might not be implemented in Battlefield until March 2022. By then, however, the shooter could already be hopelessly lost.

Battlefield 2042: If the info on Season 1 is true, this will be the death blow for BF2042

If you want to try Clownfield 2042 for yourself, all you have to do is spend a few cents: The game currently costs 71 cents at (Steam).
