CoD: Warzone – Anti-cheat Ricochet fails to crack down on hackers

The cheating and hacking has reached a new peak in CoD: Warzone. Especially the players:inside are massively annoyed by it.

Hackers and cheaters are a dime a dozen in Call of Duty: Warzone. The anti-cheat system Ricochet integrated with the new title Vanguard was supposed to curb the problem. However, the lobbies in Warzone still seem to be full of cheaters, which is particularly hard on the players.

Although the new anti-cheat system Ricochet was introduced at the end of 2021, the cheating problem seems to have set new standards with the first season in Warzone. Players complain on Reddit that there is now at least one cheater in every lobby. The anti-cheat system in particular is being questioned as to whether it is activated at all.

The extreme number of hackers makes it impossible for CoD gamers to play Caldera and Rebirth Island. Apparently, a free weekend offer at a cheating website is one reason for the abrupt boom in hackers. Due to the massive numbers, even the anti-cheat system might have problems keeping up. Nevertheless, the new onslaught of cheaters is very much on the minds of fair game players.

Some cheat victims are now so fed up with the hacking problem that they are hoping for massive changes for Warzone 2. On Reddit, CoD gamers wish Warzone 2 would not be available for free to make it harder for a large portion of hackers to get in. After all, Call of Duty: Warzone is free and thus offers no obstacle for cheaters to quickly create a new account. Valve had acted similarly last year with CS:GO to stem the cheat onslaught with a paywall.
