CoD Warzone Mobile!

Call of Duty: Warzone is also to be playable on mobile platforms. Activision confirmed that the project is currently in development.

While many PC players are eagerly awaiting Call of Duty: Warzone 2, mobile fans can now also look forward to an official announcement. Activision confirmed for the first time that a conversion for mobile platforms such as smartphones is being developed. We collect all the info on developers, release and more.

Everything we know about CoD Warzone Mobile.

What has been confirmed?

The rumours are true: CoD Warzone Mobile is currently being developed. Publisher Activision announced this on Twitter and published an artwork showing the classic jump to start a round. Interestingly, however, it doesn’t seem to be the Caldera map, conifers can be seen instead of palm trees – which are more reminiscent of Verdansk:

When will CoD Warzone Mobile be released?

Activision did not give a planned release date yet. However, according to the tweet, developers are still actively being sought. Therefore, it can be assumed that the project is still in a very early phase and will not be released for several years. We don’t expect it until 2024 at the earliest, probably even later.

Who is developing CoD Warzone Mobile?

Activision is unsurprisingly once again acting as publisher. In addition, several development studios are confirmed so far to be working on Warzone Mobile:

  • Digital Legends
  • Beenox
  • Activision Shanghai Studio
  • Solid State Studios
  • Activision Central Tech
  • Demonware

There are some important developer positions available at these studios, which you can find (listed here).

According to the official Call of Duty blog, the battle royale shooter Warzone will be getting a mobile spin-off. Attached to the announcement was a job posting for various creative and management jobs within the project. No screenshots or even video footage was released, so it can be assumed that the game is still in a very early stage of development.

The developers beat business insider Tom Henderson to the punch with their release, who wanted to write a review of the mobile game because he had already seen footage of the game. On Twitter, he said he was impressed by the new title, even if he curbed expectations regarding the graphics. Release and whether the game will also be free-to-play like its big brother is not yet clear.

Exactly what platforms will CoD Warzone Mobile be released for?

No details have yet been given about the devices on which the game will run. Since Call of Duty Mobile was also released for Android and iOS, we firmly assume that Warzone Mobile will also be available for users of both operating systems.

How does CoD Warzone Mobile play?

Activision did not comment on this either, and of course there is no gameplay to be seen at this point. The game is probably based on the very successful Call of Duty Mobile, which has been downloaded more than 300 million times in the meantime.

As soon as we get more information about Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, we will of course share it with you right here. What do you think of the planned mobile Battle Royale spin-off? Feel free to write us about it in the comments.
