World War 3 wants to fill the gap left by Battlefield 2042 and will soon enter the beta phase. Those who own the tactical shooter can play along.

World War 3’s new version catches its big competitor Battlefield 2042 in a vulnerable position. In the community of BF 2042, the mood is moderate at best, while World War 3 will start its closed beta in a new version on 25 November 2021.

Those who already own World War 3 or buy the Early Access version now may play along. During the last run-through, only the old veterans got to play. Now every player can see for themselves whether the reboot has been a success.

We show you in the video what is currently spoiling the mood of Battlefield fans.

Many similarities to Battlefield 2042

Not a copy cat: The setting of World War 3 had been set for years, long before its big stepbrother Battlefield 2042 came into the light with a similar near-future scenario. However, World War 3 does rely on classic Battlefield DNA for many aspects of the concept.

We fight as soldiers of one of the major world powers on huge maps for control of flag points. These are even composed of several sub-objectives to form larger sectors, as is also the case for Battlefield 2042.

As weapons, we wield all kinds of realistic weapons of war, including well-known assault rifles, sniper rifles and rocket launchers. For we also take a seat in vehicles such as tanks – and fight them, of course. The trailer shows what the gameplay of World War 3 looks like:

All in all, the gameplay is very similar to Battlefield, even if you can’t expect the high production quality of a AAA game. The small Polish indie studio The Farm 51, which recently made a name for itself with the dark Cherno shooter (Chernobylite), is responsible for the game.

What do you think of World War 3? Will you give the Battlefield competitor a chance? Have you even tried the new version and can you share your experiences? Feel free to write us in the comments
