Shortly before the release of Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Phantom Liberty Netrunnter and Streetkids and CD Projekt Red fans get a very special treat. An ARD documentary provides behind-the-scenes insights into video game development and sheds light on the development of “Cyberpunk 2077”. The exciting “Inside Cyberpunk” documentary can now be found in the ARD-Mediathek . The documentary addresses both the positive and negative experiences that occurred during the development process.

A central theme of the documentary is the development of the upcoming “Phantom Liberty” expansion pack for “Cyberpunk 2077”. The production of this expansion pack was accompanied by Quest Director Paweł Sasko, Studio Head Adam Badowski, and others. Shooting locations included Warsaw, Berlin and Los Angeles.

The documentary shows the developers in a stressful situation where they have to work under pressure. It asks how they can stay creative despite setbacks and hate messages in their inboxes. Can they regain the confidence they’ve lost? Can they manage without overwork, panic attacks and depression?

The video for “Cyberpunk 2077” is a culture documentary by ARD, produced by hr, WDR, ARD Kultur and MDR. The authors Mariska Lief and Agata Pietrzik highlight the challenges and triumphs of video game development and offer a fascinating insight into the world behind the screens. Likewise, YouTube and social media celebrities like FragNartColorFox as well as some games journalists have their say and give the documentary a nice, informative nerdy framework.
