Your damage with skills and attacks is limited in the role-playing game. We explain how the mechanics work

In the new role-playing game Granblue Fantasy: Relink you can create pretty powerful builds that can really clean up your opponents. However, it can quickly happen that your damage does not increase any further despite upgrades. This is due to a mechanic called Damage Cap which is designed to prevent you from becoming too strong. We explain how this works and how you can increase damage limitation here.

How the damage cap works

Every ability and every attack in Granblue Fantasy has its own set maximum damage.&nbspOnce this has been reached, increasing your attack strength with seals does not change anything. This is to ensure that you do not build a hero that is far too strong, but instead invest your resources in the whole group.

However, it is not shown when you have reached the damage cap. To recognize whether you are already dealing the maximum damage, it is best to pay attention to whether certain attacks and abilities deal the same damage very often. If numbers such as 4,999 or 9,999 occur frequently, you are probably scratching the damage limit.

How do I increase the maximum damage despite the damage cap?

Once you have reached the damage cap, there are still ways to further increase the maximum damage. These include:

  • Some seals can increase the maximum damage of certain abilities or grant you additional damage that ignores the limit.
  • Certain Terminus Weapons have a trait that increases maximum damage, but you will only find them on the highest difficulty level.
  • Your Mastery skills also include some that increase maximum damage.
  • Certain skills give you a buff in battle that allows additional damage regardless of the maximum damage.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink has enjoyed consistently high player numbers since its release on February 1, 2024. If you have also just started playing the role-playing game, we explain in the guide linked above how long it could keep you busy and how much time you should plan for depending on your play style.
