The Blood of Dawnwalker is the name of the new game from former Witcher 3 developers. New details have now been revealed – including when we will see the first gameplay.
Central European dark fantasy from a Polish developer studio– does that sound familiar? No wonder, because Rebel Wolves was founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the former game director of The Witcher 3. A first role-playing game has already been announced and now we also know when we will see gameplay from it.
The title was originally revealed as “Dawnwalker,” but in the latest update, the game is now called The Blood of Dawnwalker. We’ll summarize what is already known.
All known information about The Blood of Dawnwalker
When is gameplay coming? A first trailer will be released on Friday, January 13, 2025, at 10 p.m. According to the developers, it consists of the game’s cinematic intro and also shows very short game scenes.
What’s it about anyway?; It’s an action role-playing game with a dark fantasy setting, pure single-player, with an open game world. It’s inspired by 14th-century Central Europe and is called Vale Sangora. The Blood of Dawnwalker is supposed to have a strong focus on story, but we don’t know any details about that yet. The game is rated 18, and is controlled from a third-person view.
The announcement on X (formerly Twitter) already reveals that werewolves and other legendary creatures of the night play a central role. After all, it is emphasized that the reveal takes place under the wolf moon – that’s the name of the first full moon of the year. The change between day and night will also be important, as the game’s logo suggests.

What else is known? The game is based on the Unreal Engine 5 and will be released for PC as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S. A release date is not yet known.

Apparently, the studios Rebel Wolves and CD Projekt Red are on friendly terms; the comments under the announcement are full of warm reactions from former colleagues.
