For the first time since the release of the successful remake of the first Dead Space spin-off, there are official signs of a remake of the second and third parts.
After the remake of Dead Space received great reviews from (gamers) and critics, the question of remakes of Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 has been raised. And it looks like publisher EA is also thinking about it. This is revealed by a survey sent out to gamers.
EA weighs up the chances of success
The publisher’s poll was made public by Twitter user (Dillon Rogers), who shared it on his Twitter page:
Pfft. The survey EA is sending out. On the wall – the writing. pic.twitter.com/o2f1OPC1zM

The survey is to determine how much interest there is in more Dead Space remakes. The questions are how interested would you be in a similar remake of Dead Space 2 (2011)?
and how interested would you be in a similar remake of Dead Space 3 (2013)?
There are five answer choices each within the spectrum of not at all interested
to extremely interested
What does this mean for Dead Space 2 and 3?
First, the survey suggests that neither a Dead Space 2 nor a Dead Space 3 remake is currently in development. Also, the decision to tackle one of the remakes has apparently not yet been made. However, the poll at least tells us that the publisher is at least toying with the idea of releasing more remakes of the iconic space horror series.
Sometimes memory distorts how good or (mostly) bad a game from the past looks in reality. But we can remedy that. In this video you can see the direct comparison between the original and the remake of Dead Space:
Since they’re not even sure if development will start at all, I guess we’ll have to wait a few more years until another Dead Space remake comes out. Assuming EA even gives the green light for another part.
Furthermore, EA Motive, the developers of the first remake, recently announced that they are currently working on an Iron Man game. This means that Dead Space will either have to be developed by another team, or we would have to wait a few more years for it.
How interested are you in a like-for-like remake of Dead Space 2 and 3 on a scale of not at all to extremely interested? What would a remake have to do better than the original games? Which is your favourite Dead Space spin-off? Post it in the comments!
