The shooter-expert acclaimed XDefiant has encountered new problems shortly before its scheduled release.
Totally surprisingly, XDefiant has become the biggest Call of Duty competitor in recent months: After being mocked after its initial announcement, the shooter with the somewhat unwieldy name quickly emerged as a promising multiplayer hopeful in beta testing, despite minor technical flaws.
Now there’s bad news: After there had been rumors in the past days that the pre-season and thus the unofficial release should take place this month, there’s now bad news from the developer itself.
XDefiant is postponed indefinitely
What happened? Ubisoft has stated in a social media post that the soon to be scheduled pre-season launch has been postponed indefinitely due to newly discovered issues According to the developers, they have uncovered some inconsistencies in the game experience that we need to fix before the start of the pre-season

What’s next? Ubisoft says they will continue to work on identified issues. You can expect new info on the pre-season release and more play tests when the time comes.
When can you expect a release? There are no official details from Ubisoft, but we no longer expect a release this year. The reason: Currently, the shooter competition is simply too big.
The recently released Counter-Strike 2 is currently captivating millions of players, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released at the beginning of November, and even Halo Infinite and Battlefield 2042 will soon receive promising updates.
By the beginning of 2024, however, the market situation should have calmed down considerably – and with Apex Legends, another free2play shooter has already shown how a release in the traditionally rather uncontested month of February can turn into a massive success.
