On April 17, 2025, Last Epoch will start Season 2 and will present the new content and changes to the game in detail, for which there was already a first overview in February. The planned innovations have been extremely well received by fans, who are particularly impressed by the season mechanics surrounding the new Woven faction and their significance for the endgame – not to mention the new capybara pet.
New faction Woven
The Woven are available to every player regardless of other factions previously chosen and are associated with the new areas Tombs and Cemeteries of the Erased in your Monolith Echoes.
There you will find special cocoons in which souls are locked. Freeing them will make nearby enemies stronger and will drop the currency Memory Amber, which you can use with the new faction.
With the Woven, you have access to a new passive skill tree, the Weaver Tree You can invest the skill points that you earn by leveling up in the Woven there. With the skills you can unlock, you can actively influence the drop chance of certain items or the appearance of special enemies in your Echoes, allowing you to farm more efficiently.
From Tombs, Cemeteries, and the faction vendor, you can get… Woven Echoes, an update to the Monolith of Fate that lets you further customize this activity and adds new bosses and mechanics. At the end of Tombs, Cemeteries, and Woven Echoes, there is also an altar that allows you to equip your idols with new passive affixes and even upgrade them.
You can learn more about the new faction and the endgame implications in the blog post by developer Elventh Hour Games.
What the fans are saying
The new content has been well received in the Last Epoch subreddit. In a post, user darthpsykoz writes: “This looks like a great start to making the endgame really good.”
Jadestem writes: “I hope that we will soon look back on this point, when Last Epoch really took off and became one of the most outstanding ARPGs of all time.” Reddit user EquivalentOk9392 is already certain: »Last Epoch, this is your time to shine.«
The last major update of the competitor Path of Exile 2, Dawn of the Huntress, was not particularly well received by the community when it was released. However, developer Grinding Gear Games has already made the first improvements. Blizzard recently announced the roadmap for Diablo 4 for the year 2025. You can find out more about this in the box above.
