It”s all about horror on Steam! As part of the Fear Fest there were a number of creepy trailers. Here you can find the five best ones!
Halloween is slowly but surely approaching and on Steam there is the Fear Fest. The occasion and name already give it away: Here it”s all about games whose goal is to scare you! And some of them have directly received a new trailer, in which they show you their atmosphere directly. We would like to highlight five titles in particular!
Table of Contents
Alone in the Dark
The return of Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood: Alone in the Dark once started in 1992, but the last parts until 2015 could not quite match the glory of old. But since then 8 years have passed and the developers thought: Time to try again!
And with a complete reboot of the series. Because the part planned for 2024 looks at first like a pure remake of the first game from 1992, but the developers also allow themselves to make numerous adjustments. For Fear Fest, they explain what”s behind their decisions.
Beast
Plague and Zombies: Beast sends you back to the Middle Ages on a holy crusade to end the plague. However, you shouldn”t look for too many historical parallels. Because although the Middle Ages were horror in their own unique way, we”re almost certain that undead hordes weren”t a problem back then.
However, this is not a survival or action game. Instead, you can expect turn-based tactics not unlike those of Jagged Alliance or XCom. However, without grid fields. Instead, you”ll always be faced with the moral decision of whether to tame your inner animal or set it free. And that should affect the relationships with your team members, as well as the course of the tory.
Deceit 2
Horror for multiplayer fans: Dead by Daylight and Among Us are both very popular top titles. What if you combined the two? Then Deceit 2 would probably come out of it. Here you”ll find yourself at the center of a dark ritual and you”ll have to escape. But you can”t trust each of your team members.
Because among them you”ll find some traitors whose only goal is to eliminate you. Accordingly, it is your task to expose them or alternatively maintain your own cover.
Slender: The Arrival
A classic gets a boost: Slender: The Arrival didn”t get its latest trailer for Fear Fest, but it”s still part of the event. And for good reason. Because it gets an extensive update, with which the classic is boosted violently.
This means not only more up-to-date graphics, but even a completely new level in which you can go in search of Slenderman. And this is supposed to be just the beginning of new content for the horror game.
Stray Souls
Old-school horror: If you enjoyed titles like Resident Evil or Silent Hill back in the day, you might soon find it with Stray Souls. Because it wants to give you a similar creepy atmosphere. Among others, Akira Yamaoka, who not only created the soundtrack of Silent Hill, but is now also involved in the soundtrack of Stray Souls as a guest, is responsible for that.
The game lets you experience the adventures of Daniel, who inherits an old house from his grandmother for his 18th birthday. However, this puts him in the center of a dark ritual, the secrets of which he must now uncover. And in the process, he also takes on a whole lot of creepy monsters.
