We bring you 7 cool games coming to Steam this week – strategy fans in particular should be excited about these releases!

Last week was all about the excellent Jagged Alliance 3, but what exciting games await you this week? We’re sure GlobalESportNews readers will once again find what they’re looking for when we show you the best Steam releases of the week, as we do every week.

Xenonauts 2

(Genre: Turn Tactics – Developer: Goldhawk Interactive – Release: July 18 (to the game on Steam)

Fans of XCOM are in for a real treat this week, as Xenonauts 2 like its predecessor, pays homage to the first XCOM, known locally as UFO: Enemy Unkown.

There are said to be many improvements over the first installment, including more base building, greater enemy variety, and new research options to take advantage of even more alien technologies.

Viewfinder

(Genre: Puzzle Adventure – Developer: Sad Owl Studios – Release: July 18 (to the game on Steam)

You like Portal-style brain games? Then you absolutely Viewfinder have to have it on your radar. Our editor Kevin is firmly convinced that the game with its ingenious puzzle design is nothing less than revolutionary

When he visited Summer Games Fest in Los Angeles in June, the game completely won him over the first time he played it. In our editorial chat he said: People, buy Viewfinder on July 18. Gigantically good.

Techtonica

(Genre: Building Simulation – Developer: Fire Hose Games – Release: July 18 (to the game on Steam)

You like games like Factorio and Satisfactory, where the goal is to build huge factories, fully automate them and connect them with awesome conveyor belts? Then Techtonica is just the thing for you – because there’s more of it here!

The whole thing doesn’t take place on the surface of the planet, however, but deep under the earth. A dark but colourful game world with bioluminescent flora and fauna awaits you. By the way, fighting also takes place when enemy creatures attack – actively from the first-person perspective.

Gunsmith Simulator

(Genre: Simulation – Developer: GameHunters – Release: July 19 (to the game on Steam)

Controversial publisher PlayWay blasts out a new sim pretty much every week – and this time it’s literally all about shooting, as you become a gunsmith in Gunsmith Simulator.

You’ll repair, restore and modify dozens of different weapons, earn a ton of money and invest it in new tools to complete even more challenging missions.

Punch Club 2

(Genre: Management Simulation – Developer: Lazy Bear – Release: July 20 (to the game on Steam)

You want to become the best fighter in the world? Then Punch Club 2 might be the game for you.

In this mix of role-playing game and simulation, you must skillfully manage your time and money to become a champion. You have your hero train, work for the police or the mafia, complete quests, teach him new skills and talents and of course fight many battles.

Lakeburg Legacies

(Genre: Building Game/Management – Developer: Ishtar Games – Release: July 20 (to the game on Steam)

GlobalESportNews -Readers love building games in the Middle Ages, so Lakeburg Legacies is not to be missed – although the building part is rather secondary here.

First and foremost, you are the manager of your settlement and have to make sure that there are always enough qualified workers for all buildings – including lumberjacks, fishermen, farms and whatever else you might expect from a medieval game.

To do this, you must match your villagers with suitable partners and ensure happy marriages so that there are as many offspring as possible. This is the only way to turn your small village into a prosperous kingdom.

Homeseek

(Genre: Building Game – Developer: Traptics – Release: July 20 (to the game on Steam)

At the end of this week, we have another building game with Homeseek that reminds us of the magnificent Frostpunk. Here you also build up a settlement under adverse circumstances and regularly have to struggle with difficult decisions.

You can even compete in online PvP here, where you can steal resources from your fellow players and force them to starve in order to be the last surviving village to emerge successfully from the game – but don’t worry, the focus is clearly on the single player mode.
