Dying Light 2: Stay Human has received official system requirements. And they turn out to be moderate and quite high at the same time.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is scheduled for release on 2 February for both consoles and PC after several postponements. Developer Techland has now announced the system requirements for the latter. And they are very different: Looking at the minimum and recommended specifications without ray tracing, the requirements are still relatively moderate. However, when the real-time ray calculation comes into play, you will need a real high-end computer.

Without ray tracing

Full HD 30 FPS, ray tracing deactivated

  • Quality level: Low
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 9100, AMD Ryzen 3 2300X
  • GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 560 4.0 GB
  • OS: Windows 7
  • RAM: 8.0 GByte
  • Memory: 60.0 GByte HDD

Full HD 60 FPS, ray tracing deactivated

Quality Level: High

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 8600K, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
  • OS: Windows 10
  • RAM: 16.0 GByte
  • Memory: 60.0 GByte SSD

With ray tracing

Full HD 30 FPS, Raytracing activated

  • Quality level: Ray tracing Low
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 8600K, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
  • GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070
  • OS: Windows 10
  • RAM: 16.0 GByte
  • Memory: 60.0 GByte SSD
  • Full HD 60 FPS, ray tracing enabled
  • Quality Level: Raytracing High
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 8600K, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080
  • OS: Windows 10
  • RAM: 16.0 GByte
  • Memory: 60.0 GByte SSD

Roughly speaking, a configuration like this costs around 2,000 to 2,100 euros at the moment. Not including peripherals like mouse, keyboard and monitor. The RTX 3080 alone is hardly available for less than 1,500 euros.

In the preview video, we reveal how much we like the open-world adventure:

DLSS could once again become a gamechanger

Dying Light 2 is said to benefit from Nvidia’s AI upscaler DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). While it is not known if the system requirements take the technology into account, we assume that they do not. With DLSS activated, it should be possible to noticeably improve performance.
