Dying Light 2’s Tower Raid mode makes a return in the game’s newly released 1.19 update. The activity was removed around the time Dying Light 2 received its previous update in August.
In June, Techland gave Dying Light 2 players the opportunity to try out the beta version of a new activity called Tower Raid. The mode, which was inspired by the popular zombie shooter’s VNC Tower mission, essentially turned the game into a roguelike experience that rewarded people with loot for reaching the end of a dungeon – in this case, a skyscraper. Many found Tower Raid to be a fun and challenging activity, but it was ultimately removed after the beta period ended. Techland, however, has brought the mode back to Dying Light 2 via a recently released patch.
The 1.19 update for Dying Light 2 that went live on October 30 introduces Tower Raid: Halloween Run, a version of the beloved activity that is based on everyone’s favorite annual celebration involving costumes, treats, and scares. This iteration features a new final boss, three additional floor types, and a set of Halloween-themed characters that people can play as. Each character has a unique loadout, trait, and playstyle, making Dying Light 2 feel more like a modern class-based shooter than a zombie survival game. Scarecrow, for example, has a larger pool of health, while Van Aiden deals more ranged damage.

In addition to bringing back Tower Raid, Dying Light 2’s 1.19 update also addressed bugs, delivered quality-of-life improvements, and implemented all sorts of other tweaks. One of the issues affected the Dying Light 2 side quest Diva. Another caused the game to freeze whenever a player opened the map in the middle of changing locations.
Tower Raid: Halloween Run will be available to play until November 20. Those who find themselves struggling to play the activity can use two types of perks to gain buffs when dungeon crawling. Session Perks can only be purchased using Halloween Candies, the current Dying Light 2 event’s special currency. There are also Character Perks, which can only be obtained via Perk Points trading.
Techland is currently working on Dying Light: The Beast, a standalone experience that initially started out as a DLC for Dying Light 2. The upcoming game, which follows Dying Light protagonist Kyle Crane, will feature a new story that should provide players with at least 18 hours worth of adventures.
