Elden Ring is getting a free DLC that focuses mainly on PvP. We have all the info on content and release.

Elden Ring is getting a free DLC, which will be released on December 7, 2022 already. It is a multiplayer update that opens up coliseum arenas in the game world where players can fight each other. Those who own Elden Ring can simply download the update and get started right away – and in the meantime, thanks to a press release, we know exactly what is in the update!

The trailer gives you a sneak peek: The Coliseum arenas await in Limgrave, Leyndell and Caelid with several PvP modes to test your skills in.

What exactly will the Colosseum update be?

The big star of the show is the new Colosseum, a free PvP DLC that you can try out directly in-game with the update, as the Colosseum doors in Limgrave, Caelid and Leyndell are now open. In the PvP arenas, there are three modes:

  • The Team Test: Quasi Team Deathmatch, so you compete against each other in two teams. Every kill gives you points, every own death enriches the enemy team. Whoever has more points at the end wins the round.
  • The Individual Test: One Free for all Each participant fights for himself and can respawn after dying. Whoever collects the most points at the end wins.
  • Duelling mode: In Leyndell you can engage in 1-on-1 duels. Of course, you can also compete against friends via password.

In the Caelid Colosseum, by the way, you get the exclusive opportunity to summon ghost ashes in the fights. So you can put together your own modular game experience. In addition to the new content, the Colosseum update also brings a lot of bug fixes and minor improvements.

Also new – and now hold on to your hats: There are five new hairstyles! So if you ever want to try out a new fashion style, check back after the update.

Is Elden Ring getting more DLC?

Rumours and speculations about paid expansions for Elden Ring have been persistent for months. Meanwhile, journalist Jason Schreier believes that major announcements about Elden Ring could follow at the Game Awards. He believes another DLC could be revealed later this week at Game Awards 2022:

Why is the forecast so exciting? Schreier is one of the best-known games journalists, as he is considered to be very well connected and regularly attracts attention with numerous insider information. Whether he already knows more about a planned further addon for Elden Ring remains unclear, but his comment at least makes fans of Elden Ring sit up and take notice.

When can I watch the Game Awards 2022? The Game Awards will take place on Thursday night, 9 December 2022 from 01:30. We’ll be covering the show live in a special shift.
