What would the game world of Elden Ring look like in miniature? There is a very simple answer to this question: Damn cute, as a Youtuber proves with the help of mods.
Damn, why did Elden Ring only have to be an open-world game in the best Souls-like manner from the third-person perspective? Because the YouTuber’s video (Flurdeh) definitely makes you a little wistful: it shows Elden Ring from a completely new perspective.
The game world becomes teeny tiny in it and Flurdeh shows what a fantastic figure the interlands would make as an isometric adventure. Before we say too many words about the impressive video, which makes Elden Ring seem kind of cute, take a look for yourself:
How the Mini-Elden Ring was created
Flurdeh has already shrunk the worlds of quite other games. For example (Cyberpunk 2077), (God of War), (Red Dead Redemption 2), (Zelda: Breath of the Wilds), (Skyrim), (The Witcher 3) or (Battlefield 1). Hach, one video is really more beautiful than the next! Of course, the YouTuber changes the angle of view of the corresponding game world and uses a tilt-shift effect to create a miniature look.
What is a tilt-shift effect?
Simply put, this effect allows the lens and image plane of a camera to shift and pan independently of each other. This allows the photographer or artist to create the effect of a miniature model by expanding the perspective. However, the tilt-shift effect is also used to create an even focus in a photograph, for example.
Especially for Elden Ring, among others, the photo mode tools of Frans Bouma were used, which are available on his (Patreon page) – but not free of charge. The result is a somehow cosy version of the game world of Elden Ring, where even the scariest (and most annoying) enemies don’t even look that bad anymore.
Flurdeh has also captured the beauty of Elden Ring in another video. In it, you can view the rich facets of the open world in a relaxed and undisturbed manner – without having to constantly fear for your virtual life and your runes:
What you should currently know about Elden Ring
Elden Ring was released in February 2022 for PC and consoles, and since then players have been racing through the interlands. The latest record: in less than nine minutes, a player has finished the Soulslike game. Others defeat bosses on the dance mat or shamelessly take advantage of the fact that Radahn is a non-swimmer.
What do you think of the tilt-shift video shown: Would you want to see Elden Ring from such a perspective? Or are the three minutes enough for you to forget about stressful boss fights, at least for a short time? Let us know in the comments!
