The update not only brings balancing changes and bug fixes, but also hints at upcoming addons. Ray tracing also seems to be coming.
It is very likely that FromSoftware will announce a DLC for Elden Ring sooner or later. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Demons Souls are so far the only titles from the studio that came without additional content. In the latest patch 1.07, dataminers have now come across suspicious content that points to additional content and a ray tracing feature.
What do the clues say?
New DLC? Dataminer Zullie shared on Twitter interesting discoveries he found in the game files of the new update. In it, the IDs m20 and m45 are mentioned. As Zullie explains, IDs can indicate what kind of environment a map has. For example, the abbreviation m30 stands for side dungeons, and m10 to 19 are the main areas. Zullie suspects that behind m20 there could be a Legacy Dungeon. As for m45, he is himself stumped. In any case, two completely new maps don’t sound like a small update is planned.
The IDs are m20 and m45. Notably, IDs can imply what kind of area a map is. m30 maps are side dungeons, m60 is the overworld, and the “main” areas are currently m10 through m19, which means m20 could be a Legacy Dungeon. m45 is interesting because there are no maps in that range. https://t.co/uaN2nXC4eD pic.twitter.com/Wdv2ybW9BA

What exactly the two potential maps are about is still unclear. It has not been officially confirmed that they will appear at all. However, the entry strongly hints at new content.
But if you are already longing for new Elden Ring content and are also a fan of The Lord of the Rings, then take a look at the following mod:
Raytracing? Lance McDonald has also found references for a ray tracing setting. You may be able to marvel at the reflection effects in Elden Ring even more – if your PC is powerful enough.

What else is in Update 1.07?
The update mainly deals with balancing changes and bug fixes. Particularly interesting is the separate damage scaling for the PvP mode. In duels against other players, other damage scaling is possible than in single player.
We probably won’t have to wait too much longer for a new game from the Elden Ring makers. Development for the as yet unannounced game is said to be in its final stages.
