With the Rivers of Blood build, players:inside focus on powerful bleed attacks in Elden Ring that deal a lot of damage.
Elden Ring offers a huge variety of weapons and equipment. With the Rivers of Blood katana, it is possible to create a strong skill build with a focus on bleeding. However, the weapon can only be found in one of the last areas.
This build focuses on the Katana Rivers of Blood. However, this can only be found at the Giant’s Peak. Therefore, players will receive this weapon quite late in the game. However, if you don’t want to miss out on a bleeding build before then, you can fall back on the Uchigatana with the war ash “Bloody Cut” until you get Rivers of Blood.
Early to Mid Game
- Weapon, right hand: Uchigatana
- Weapon, left hand: sacrificial priest’s axe
- Armor: Heaviest armor still for a medium role
- War bag: Bloody cut

Late to End Game
- Weapon, right hand: Rivers of Blood
- Weapon, left hand: Sacrificial Priest Axe and Seal of Dragon Communion
- Armor: Okina Mask or White Mask
- Talismans: Lord of Blood’s Exultation, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Carian Filigreed Crest, Shard of Alexander, Green Turtle Talisman
- War Pouch: Corpse Piler (Unique skill from Rivers of Blood)
- Spell: Flame, Give Me Strength
The sacrificial priest’s axe can be found quite early on in the Peninsula of Tears. When this is carried in the left hand while an enemy dies, the players:inside receive FP (mana) back. This makes it unnecessary to have a large number of mana potions. The Okina Mask increases skill by three points and the White Mask increases damage by ten percent after an enemy has been damaged by bleeding.
The invocation “Flame, give me strength” increases physical damage and fire damage by 20 percent. The Katana Rivers of Blood additionally causes this kind of damage. However, this is also useful for the Uchigatana in the Early Game.
Values
For a skill build with a katana that focuses on bleeding, the two values skill and arcane energy are central. These are important for the damage of the weapons and also for the bleeding effect. Bleeding scales with arcane energy and the katanas are mainly skill weapons. However, it is also worth putting some points into strength and spirit later.
Faith only requires a value of 15 to use the invocation “Flame, give me strength”. In the Late Game, players should have a value of 50 for both skill and arcane energy. Spirit should also be invested some points, as the abilities of the Uchigatana and the Rivers of Blood cost FP and these are the main attacks used in this build.
In general, all classes are suitable for this build. However, the bandit, samurai and warrior already have suitable attributes for this setup at the start. In addition, the Samurai has the Uchigatana at the start.
