Elder Scrols Update 32

The new patch for ESO brings some changes to the MMO and appears at the same time as the DLC Deadlands. We have all the info and patch notes.

From 1 November 2021, Elder Scrolls Online will launch the finale of The Gates of Oblivion. With the Deadlands expansion, it’s off to battle the powerful Daedra lord Mehrunes Dagon – which brings exciting lore, a nifty area, but unfortunately only a mediocre story.

The good news is that even if you skip the expansion, you’ll get some new content and features with Update 32, which was released at the same time. We have an overview of the most important changes and the complete patch notes for you.

What about the consoles? In case you are wondering, the PC version of ESO is earlier with the update. On PlayStation and Xbox you still need to be patient until 16 November 2021.

What changes with Patch 32?

Arsenal system changed: You can now more easily switch between compositions, so to speak, swap your setup for a character, including attributes, items and skills. To do this, you need an arsenal table, which you can find for free in the Crown Shop. Each of your characters has two arsenal slots.

Complete item sets more easily: Less frustration when completing item sets. This is promised by a change to the drop chances. From now on, enemies are more likely to drop set items that you do not yet possess. Chests in dungeons remain unaffected.

DLSS and DLAA
: With this update ESO gets support for the modern Nvidia features – as the first game ever “Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing”. In order to use this, you logically need a compatible graphics card.

Patch Notes for Update 32

BASIC

The Arsenal System

  • With the Arsenal, you can expect a new system that takes away some of the hassles of quickly switching or experimenting with your character compositions! The Arsenal allows you to save your own character compositions. This includes your equipment, attributes, skills, champion points and even whether you are a werewolf or vampire. You can then switch between these saved compositions effortlessly and without delay.
  • The arsenal is available to all players for free. To get started, simply pick up the free Arsenal table in the Crown Shop and place it in one of your homes.
  • You can also purchase Ghrasharog, the arsenal helper, from the Crown Shop to use all of the arsenal’s features away from your home.
  • Please note that you cannot save or load compilations without interacting with an arsenal table or the helper.

Curated Chance Item Sets

Leaders and chests from arenas and dungeons will now grant you priority set items that you have not yet unlocked in your item set collection!

  • Most leaders in the game, and with them reward chests from Arenas and Advances, will now preferentially grant you set items that you have not yet unlocked in your item set collection. You will still only receive the parts of a set from these sources that can normally be found there; how you receive certain parts of a set does not change, but it will be much easier for you to find the parts you are missing.
    • Set items from treasure chests, containers or random loot from regular enemies will not be affected by this.

    Summary for item set collection

In addition to the new curated opportunities, we have added a summary page to the item set collection. Here you can instantly see your overall progress in collecting all the set items to be found in the game. Each parent category has its own progress bar so you can search for the exact set items you’re missing.

    New Mythic Items

Update 32 includes three new mythical items that you can track down through the antiquities system. Please note that you must have the Greymoor chapter to unearth antiquities

    Markyn Ring of Sublimity

    • 1 – Grants you 100 magic and weapon power and 1,157 armour for each set you wear at least 3 pieces of.
    • Developer’s comment: The effect of this set includes any item set with up to 3 or 5 items of which you are wearing at least 3 pieces. For example, if you are wearing 3 pieces of Agility, this counts as a 3 piece bonus for the wearer. If you are also wearing 3 pieces of Hunding’s Wrath, this counts as another bonus. The same applies if you were to wear 5 items of Hounding’s Wrath.

    Belharza’s Band

    • 1 – Increases the damage of your light attacks by 900. If you deal damage with consecutive light attacks, you receive one of up to 5 cumulations of Belharza’s Mind for 10 seconds. If you reach 5 accumulations, use up all accumulations and deal physical damage to all enemies in a line after 1 second for each accumulation. If 5 cumulations are consumed, they are also stunned for 3 seconds. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds and scales with your magic or weapon power, whichever is higher.

    Shoulder Bands of Doom

    • 1 – When you begin to sneak, this grants you or removes a 12 meter Aura of Pride. Up to 6 allies within it gain 260 magic and weapon power. Your own magic and weapon power decrease by 70 for each affected party member.
    • Developer’s note: Bending down activates or deactivates the Aura of Pride. When you stand up again, nothing changes. You do not have to bend down to use the aura.

    Map updates

With update 32, both active Dark Anchors and Sky Shards will be highlighted on your map!

    • Active Dark Anchors will now appear highlighted on your active area map, similar to Gram Storms and Void Geysers.
    • Celestial shards now appear on both your map and your compass when you approach them, similar to what you already see from wayshrines and crafting tables.
    • In addition, the area guide will now take you to the next uncollected Sky Shard if you have completed all other objectives in the area.

    New Homes

There are two new homes available for testing in the Crown Shop:

    • Ossa Accentium: Once the home of an eccentric merchant and collector, this indulgent mansion with its view framed by one of Ferngrab’s otherworldly skeletons. Now it also provides easy access to all the amenities and exotic goods the city has to offer.
    • Rise of Torment: Whispered warnings of the dominating spires convince the cautious to avoid this place for fear of torture … or worse. Those who are brave, however, may appreciate the unshakable tower and commanding view that make up this formidable fortress in the realm of oblivion.

    Battle Music Settings

In the audio settings you will now find a new option for the music in battle. Here you can choose whether you always want to hear battle music, only against leaders or not at all.

    New PvP Action

Get Siege Stomp as an action by combining Arena Gladiator’s Evidence with Arena Gladiator’s Revenge, which can be purchased from War Researchers in Cyrodiil.

Support for Nvidia DLSS and DLAA

With Update 32, we are introducing support for Nvidia DLSS 2.2 (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and Nvidia DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing). If you are playing ESO with a DLSS compatible Nvidia graphics card and drivers, you will find new anti-aliasing options in the video settings.

    • Select “Nvidia DLSS” and you can choose your preferred mode below.
    • Select “Nvidia DLAA” and you can use Nvidia’s high quality deep learning based anti-aliasing at full resolution without upscaling.
      • Due to the many possible settings for ESO, you may well get minimal or no noticeable performance gain from DLSS, especially if ESO is slowed down more by your CPU. You are most likely to feel a gain at higher resolutions, such as 4K, with rendering enabled in a separate thread and with GPU demanding settings, such as SSGI.
      • Similarly, you should not hope for any performance improvements from Nvidia DLAA, as this option only serves as a higher-quality anti-aliasing option.

You can find a complete list of bug fixes (on the official ESO forum).
